Tanzania Couples Safari Holidays
Because of its large selection of safari parks and great range of lodges, Tanzania is an amazing place for couples. There is something for every budget and, with Zanzibar and the nearby islands close by, the holiday choice is outstanding.
The first choice couples must make is where in Tanzania they will visit; this choice is usually made considerably easier depending on the time of year they intend to travel. The Northern Circuit is probably the place you will want to visit if you like to fly between December and June. The main cause is the Northern Circuit is excellent while the South and the West are not in their prime for game viewing at this time of year.
If you are looking to travel between July and November, you have the entire nation to choose from, thus your destination choice becomes much more suited to the type of safari you wish to go for.
Choosing where to visit Tanzania could appear somewhat difficult when you have complete choice of possibilities. First of all, don’t be convinced otherwise if you have Serengeti and Ngorongoro on your list of preferred locations; you will not regret visiting there! If you are open to just “experiencing Africa,” though, you also have to investigate the less well-known parks; they provide a different but equally fulfilling safari style.
The more commercial safari site is Northern Tanzania. The drawback of this is that you really cannot avoid throngs at either the Ngorongoro or Lake Manyara. Still, the quality of safari here is unquestionably excellent; if your main focus is game viewing in large numbers of big game regions, this area should most certainly be under consideration.
While Southern Tanzania provides a more relaxed safari away from the thrills and during peak season, the game viewing is very outstanding. Nyerere (previously Selous) is the only place in Tanzania that provide boating safari, and the area boasts a significantly more varied range of safari activities overall. Unlike many of the camps here, it is rare to encounter other cars from many of which one cannot say about the north.
Serious safari buffs will find Western Tanzania appealing. One probable exception to this rule is Mahale, a wonderful park where the chimpanzee visits are for any customer. But for the connoisseur, nearby Katavi is the park; there are just a few simple, no frills safari camps here. One should also note that visiting Western Tanzania is a ferociously expensive trip.
